Zicci Bea
The designers behind Zicci Bea contacted me quite a while ago about setting up a photo shoot for their bedding company. I remember opening their email and thinking, "Take pictures of linen??? Total snoozefest." I graciously declined and we ended up setting up photo shoots for both of their families. (Insanely adorable children...you've seen them plastered over my website and blog.)
After meeting their families and spending time with both Shoshanah and Yali, I thought to myself, "How could two people with these incredibly, colorful personalities be so passionate and excited about linen??" It intrigued me. Now I was open to hearing more. Over a few months, Yali and I chatted about their designs, the ideas they had and their thoughts for a shoot.
We finally setup a date for our photo shoot. I have to tell you... NEVER did I think I'd get excited about taking pictures of bedding. Zicci Bea totally changed that. They take the 'blah' out of linen and like Yali says, put the "ooh la la" into bedding.
Their beddings have such gorgeous and alive color combinations and the way they set everything up is just brilliant. I was running around with my camera, just repeating, "Oh my gosh. This is insane! These are gorgeous! This looks amazing! The colors!!!!"
The only issue I ran into during our shoot was controlling myself from jumping head first into one of the lush looking beds for a nap.
It was such a pleasure working with two artists. The creativity in the room was palpable and they were so accomodating in making sure the atmosphere was comfortable so we could do our best creating.
All in all, it was such a wonderful experience and I have a new found adoration for bedding! YES, I just said that.

My little princess...
I never tire of photographing my nieces.
I saw this spot in the garden the other day and instantly saw a picture come together in my head. I went back today to capture it. I love the romantic look...
P.S. - this one's getting enlarged into a huge canvas!

Twice as nice...
Photographing twins is always awesome. These two were hilarious. We talked about monkeys and rabbits, sang a little, danced a little ...all in the name of keeping two 2 year olds entertained. I think it worked.

I wish, wish someone else had been at this shoot to take pictures of the "behind the scenes". I'm talking pots, pans, banging on windows...it was a trip. This little boy is FULL of mischief, but so darn cute you can't help but fall in love! He's a total explorer. Interested in everything. I would literally be behind the camera snapping and all the sudden he would be gone. I'd look up and see him across the yard leaving me puzzled as to how he got there so fast.
How could you resist this face!?
