The city is under a white, fluffly blanket.

It was the first time this winter that I was around for a blizzard. NY is known as the city that never sleeps and lives up to that title, but during a snowstorm there is a certain serenity that you feel. The streets are quiet... blanketed in fresh, white snowflakes. The next morning, we took advantage of the clean snow and went out for some pictures. Incidentally, I had dinner on Friday night by a friends house and met a girl there who told me she's an avid blog reader...she made a request that I blog more often. I'll do my best :)

I am absolutely crazy about this picture!

Needless to say, this one's going up on my wall.

I'm in the middle of ordering a whole lot of pictures to cover the wall behind my workspace. It's currently WHITE, an empty canvas...not very inspirational. As I dug through archives of old photos, I found these pictures that I took so very long ago when my love obsession with my camera began. They're of my little sister and I love these pictures for so many reasons...the subject, the memories of that day, the beautiful lighting. But mostly because these were taken before I was exposed to this big, beautiful world of photography. Before my mind was filled with the "rules", outside inspiration, and a thorough understanding of light. These pictures were purely instinct...

These pictures have me tickeled...whenever I look at them I smile. These kids were awesome to the second power. So quiet at first, but once I got them chatting, they were giggling for the rest of the afternoon.

This picture of Dad & Son makes me melt!

A toothless grin! The perfect thumbprint of childhood...

My niece...

The most precious face in the world with a personality to match.

I took this photo a while ago, but it's still one of my favorites.

Baby it's cold outside.

I was in Miami last weekend during Super Bowl and spent a day shooting a couple of professional athletes for the Astor & Black collection. Anthony Gonzalez is a football wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts and Josh Cribbs is a football player for the Cleveland Browns. They were both incredibly nice guys and we hung out at the newly built W Hotel on South Beach for a few hours. It was an insane day with all the things going on for the Super Bowl, but we still managed to get some great shots.

My cousin, Natalie, shares my love for photography. We've always talked about FINALLY turning the camera on her so she could have the same beautiful memories we preserve for other families. We couldn't have landed a better day. It was a GORGEOUS day in Miami with blue skies, the sun shining and a cool breeze. Whenever we're together, we usually end up laughing uncontrollably...add Natalie's husband and kids into the mix and it was destined to be a great time.

There's nothing quite like the perfection of a bride on the day of her wedding.

A person is only this tiny for literally days. There's something so magical about taking pictures of a newborn baby, just days old, because you know by the time the photos are processed the baby will already be a different size. Because it's such a short time, it's also so easy to forget how small we all start out.
